A workshop introducing the basic principles of Centering Prayer with a detailed explanation of the method and opportunities to practice. All are welcome, whether you are completely new to this practice, or if you want to refresh your practice as well as spend time with others interested in the contemplative dimension of Christianity. Led by Jill Benet and Jacqueline Evans. Sometimes called ‘consent on the go’, the Welcome Prayer as described by Rev Dr Cynthia Bourgeault ‘is a powerful path for connecting the inner consent of Centering Prayer with the outer requirement of unconditional presence in daily life’. This longer weekend will allow time to revisit the method of the Welcome Prayer and review its background, as well as time to practise. There will be extended periods of Centering Prayer and silence.
