One of the biggest impediments to spiritual growth is that we do not perceive our hidden motivations. The influence of our emotional programs for happiness acquired from early childhood affect every aspect of our daily life. As we consent in the practice of Centering Prayer to letting go of our addiction to thinking we discover that our identity is deeper than the surface of the psychological awareness we identify with. The weekend will be a sharing of silence, Centering Prayer with some study and reflection on this theme.
